LTC D. DAVID BAKER To TAPS

LTC D. DAVID BAKER passed away 4/20/2021.

Received the following from his daughter, Barbara:

Dad passed away peacefully last night. Yesterday was Mom's birthday, so it is comforting to think of them together again. There will be a brief memorial service on Tuesday, May 4th at 9:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery. Thank you for being a special part of Mom and Dad's lives.

August 31, 1938 – April 20, 2021
Dave Baker passed away on April 20th in Bradenton, Florida. He was born August
31, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Don and Kathleen Baker. Dave
was raised in Huntington and graduated from Huntington High School in 1956. He
graduated with a BS in Business from Marshall University in 1960 and an MBA
from Indiana University in 1976. He married Judy Baker and they moved often
during his service in the United States Army Finance Corps. During this time, they
raised four children – Barbara, Chuck, Susan and Karen. Judy and David moved to
Bradenton Florida in 1981 where Dave traveled as an independent consultant
until his retirement in 2001.
Dave and Judy loved to travel all over the world. Dave was an avid golfer and
enjoyed time with family and friends. Dave will be remembered for his strong
work ethic and his role as Papa for the grand and great-grandkids.
Dave is preceded in death by Judy, his wife of 65 years, and son Charles Baker. He
will be missed by children: Barbara (Joe) Pfeiffer, Susan (Kelly) Gelarden, Karen
Baten, daughter-in-law Debra Baker, grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jenny) Pfeiffer, Holly
(Joe Jr) Ramos, Carrie (Ian) Cole, Chris Baker, Kim (Dan) Bergman, Ian Gelarden,
Megan Gelarden, Bradley Baten, Andrew (Nikki) Baten, Melanie (Joel) Ferguson
and great-grandchildren: Peyton and Parker Ramos, Abigail and Will Pfeiffer,
Taylor, Hannah and Charlotte Baker, Caiden and Logan Bergman, and Asher
Baten.
A Military Honors Memorial service will be on May 4 th at 9:30 AM at Sarasota
National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Florida
Cancer Specialists Foundation, 5985 Silver Falls Run, Ste 210, Lakewood Ranch, FL
34211.

RIP.  Dave and Judy only missed 3 times in RAFINO - 1998, 2010, and 2018.  We will miss them.  Dick & Sally Pedersen
