October 27 1949 January 25 2021
On Monday, January 25, 2021, at the age of 72, Scott Miller of Wooster, Ohio, loving husband, father, and Paw-Paw passed away peacefully with his wife Gerri and daughter Missy holding his hands, as well as his son Brandon and daughter Tammy at his bedside. Scott was born on October 27, 1949 in Stiltner, West Virginia to Dewey and Mary Ann (Watts) Miller. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Dewey, and his mother Mary Ann; as well as brothers Corky and Dennis; sisters Malta, Erma, and Patsy. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife, Gerri and his three children: Missy, Brandon (Kristen) and Tammy (Tim) Turpin. Scott’s most prized possessions were his grandchildren: Zack, Dave, Nick, Ethan, Amanda, Lindsay, Timothy, and Tanner, as well as 7 great grandchildren. Scott is also survived by 5 siblings: Jane, Grace (Curt), Donna, Gwynell, and Carl, as well as brother-in-law Robert Scott and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Scott was the Owner of Miller Decorating Services from 1974 until his retirement in 2014. Scott enjoyed bluegrass music, reading, traveling, fishing, yard work, Hardee’s biscuits and gravy, tinkering and building things around the house. One of Scott’s latest joys was his recent fishing trip to Lake Chautauqua in New York with his son, Brandon and grandson, Zack.

Scott knew how much we loved him and we knew how much he loved us. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sarcasm, unfailing work ethic, and willingness to help anyone at any time. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the fact that he can finally put down his paintbrush and tools and rest.

A private service for immediate family was held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Fortuna Funeral Home, Independence, Ohio. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
