Eric Reid Retires

I wanted to let you all know that I have officially notified the command of my intent to retire on 27 March 2021. It has been a great ride for over 40 years working in or for the Army. I am proud of the team we have put together in AFS, including those who have retired before me. I will be taking a fair amount of leave these next few months; but will still be popping in to clean out old stuff and provide insight on things going forward. Don't be surprised if some old piece of correspondence or information should pop up on your desk which I thought you might need or find humorous in some cases.
I joined USAFINCOM when we had less than 30 folks, civilian and military. Today we have over 1,100. This month marks the 30 year anniversary of the creation of USAFINCOM as well as DFAS. Always remember, our number one mission is to support the Soldiers and commands in harm's way.

Eric, you are at the top of professionalism. I enjoyed working for you and all the support you provided in our area of Accounts Payable. USAFINCOM will really miss the support you provide in the effort to ensure our soldiers and the commands were taken care of. Thank you for all you have done for the Army and DFAS! Enjoy retirement. Eric, I don't know of anyone more dedicated than you. Throughout your career, in and out of uniform, you've been the consummate professional. I valued your expertise, and can-do attitude when I was the USAFINCOM Commander. Yours was a voice I needed and respected. I give you my personal thanks for all you did; Congrats on a wonderful career; and best wishes in whatever you do in retirement. You deserve to relax and enjoy life !!! Kevin Troller
