MAJ DONALD L. FULLER To TAPS

Major (Ret.) Donald L. Fuller, 83, of Bloomington passed away Friday February 22, 2019 at Hearthstone Health Campus at Bloomington.

Born December 31, 1935 in Solsberry, Indiana the son of Amos G. and Mary A. (Gallian) Berg.

Donald graduated from Solsberry High School in 1953, he joined the National Guard, then the Army, he received a battlefield commission while stationed in Alaska, he served two tours in Vietnam, Donald traveled around the world for the military doing payroll, he worked with POW’s that where coming home after the war, after returning to Bloomington he worked as the Fiscal officer for Monroe County Mental Health Center bringing the first computer to that office. Don formed the RHS Water Corporation to bring city water to Rhorer, Harrell and Schacht Roads, he owned Don’s Food Market from 1980 to 1989, and still has Don’s Insurance Agency in Bloomington. Don was a member of the Solsberry Christian Church, Stanford Masonic Lodge where he was Worshipful Master in 1980, Scottish Rite, the Stone Belt Shrine Club serving as President in 1986, he was a member of the Solsberry American Legion Post # 450, Elks, Moose and Eagle Clubs.

Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 63 years, Sharlene Fuller, his two sons, Gregory S. Fuller, Michael G. Fuller, two granddaughters, Ashley (Matt) Kavanaugh, Kari Ann Fuller, one great granddaughter, Ella Kavanaugh, two sisters, Kay Carmichael Pierce, Linda Lindahl and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Don was preceded in death by one son Donald L. Fuller Jr. and his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Solsberry Christian Church and 1 P.M. Wednesday until the hour of service at the Church.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Solsberry Christian Church with Pastor Tom Cooperider officiating. Burial will follow at Solsberry Christian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes any donations be made to the Solsberry Christian Church or the Solsberry Cemetery.
