I served with Doug at the Finance School in the mid 1980's when we activated the Finance Corps Regiment, implemented the Captain's Course small group leader's program, and conducted robust FTX's at Camp Atterbury. Doug was a high energy guy, full of ideas, always willing to help others anywhere/anytime, and was a helluva racquetball player. We had a lot of fun as a school staff, especially at Finance Corps Dining-Ins when we changed into "Dress Uniform"-BDU's or when we rigged a friendly competition with the Finance Center Officer staff. As an example, I calmly ate a slice of pie while my competitor had trouble eating his frozen slice. Doug was also part of the Finance team (COL(R) Dave Mikkelson and others) that quickly evacuated from Iran during the Khomeini Revolution. RIP, Doug, we remember the good times!
