COL CURTIS M HELLENBRAND, JR To TAPS

Curtis M. Hellenbrand was born in Boston, MA. He held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UCLA, an MBA in Accounting - Information Systems from USC, and in June 1979 was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army's Finance Corps as a Distinguished Military Graduate. Curt earned a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. Curt's 30 years in the Army included service as Chief of Information Management, Los Angeles District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chief - Enterprise Architecture, Chief Information Office, Army G-1 (Personnel) at the Pentagon, and an Assistant Deputy in a division of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. He was most recently working at AMC's CECOM in the Software Engineering Center, Data Services Division. Curt was a CPA in CA, CO, NC, TX, and VA. Curt's awards include the Legion of Merit and the Meritorious Service Medal. He earned the Army Staff Identification Badge during his final assignments at the Pentagon. He was active in Toastmasters International, where he earned his Advanced Communicator - Gold and Advanced Leader - Bronze awards, and served as club treasurer, club president, area governor encompassing several clubs, and division governor encompassing several areas. Curt is survived by his father, Curtis Hellenbrand Sr., fiance` Anita Y. K. Davis of Jacksonville, Florida and her three children Elissa, Glen and Shannon Davis to whom he was a father.
