1SG EUGENE KENT VANN passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013.

Eugene Kent Vann, age 55, a resident of Fountain, Colorado since 1997, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

"Kent" was born on September 6, 1958 in Celina, Ohio to Fred and Gloria Jean (Emerson) Vann. He attended schools in Celina and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. He met and married Sharon R. Johnston. Kent then retired from the Army from Fort Carson in 1999 after 22 years of service. He was currently employed by Intelligent Software Solutions were he deployed as a systems engineer to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

He will be best remembered for the storytelling of his adventures in hunting and fishing. He always caught one that was "this big." He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and spent a few years as a Boy Scout leader.

Kent is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his children: Bryon Vann of Fountain, Colorado; Holly (Lane) Faust of Colorado Springs; Christopher Vann of Atlanta, Georgia; Danielle (Clayton) Johnson of Colorado Springs; and Rachel Visconti of San Diego; his parents; and his four siblings. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Rose, Alex, William, Zoie, Kaylee, and Paisley (who is on the way).

Services were held in Rockford, Ohio with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Memorial Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Fountain.
