COL HOWARD H. SIMMONS To TAPS

COL HOWARD H. SIMMONS passed away on December 6, 2005. After serving 34 years with the U.S. Army, he went on to become the Dean of Students and Professor Emeritus at Northern Virginia Community College. He also established the library at The Fairfax Retirement Center. He held degrees from George Washington University, University of San Francisco and Stanford University. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruthellen Simmons; daughter, Marla Simmons; son, Howard Keith Simmons; beloved grandchildren, Stephanie Weeren, Alissa Banks, David Betzel, Jennifer Gard, Sally Impink and Jillian Simmons. He also leaves 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Marion Maginnis and brother, Herbert Simon; nephew, Ralph Simon and nieces, Etienne Melcher and Tara Maginnis. -
