BG GUNN to TAPs

 BG James W. GUNN, 91, who retired in 1972 as commander of the Army Audit Agency, died April 29 at Inova Alexandria Hospital of pneumonia. He had a stroke in March while playing golf.
Gen. Gunn joined the Army in 1942, served in the Corps of Engineers in Europe during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He spent the rest of his military career mostly in the Transportation Corps and held assignments of increasing responsibility in the Army Comptroller's office. During the Vietnam War, he headed an Army support command in Da Nang.  After his military retirement, he spent nine years at the defense contractor General Research in McLean, where he directed a division overseeing human resources, accounting and other internal operations.
