How to Avoid PC Scams

As many of us have learned the hard way, there are countless bad guys out there in the world who would like nothing more than to part you and your money by scamming you into giving them access to or control of your computer.

Many of these scams begin with a cold call from someone claimig to be from Microsoft and offering to help you with "your computer problem that has been reported to us".  If you get one of these calls, hang up immediately.  They can be very convincing and dangerous.
