LTC DUFFY, WILLIAM J. to TAPs

LTC WILLIAM J. DUFFY passed away 07/29/2012.

He worked hard and fought hard for his family and his country, from the days of the Great Depression when he and his younger brother Jack worked as baggers at the A&P in West Philly to help support their family, through his 30 years of service in the U.S. Army.
Proud graduate of West Catholic High and St. Joseph University. Served in World War II, the Korean War and theVietnam War.
He and his late wife, Mae (Brantley), spent many loving years together in Japan, Germany and the U.S. raising their five children. He later married Leona (Butts) Bevan with whom he enjoyed life in Ridley Park and West Wildwood until her death. Survivors: He is survived by his children -- William, Michael, Deborah, Gregory and Shawn; his step-daughter, Renee Rosenbluth; 16 grandchildren; his sisters Rosemary Jones and Barbara Carpenter; his sister-in-law Rosemarie Duffy.
