      Chief of Staff
      DFAS Indianapolis

Dear Bud,

The Parish Council of Christians United Church, formerly located at the Soldiers' Memorial Chapel, FBH, voted last evening to donate MG Bean's Memorial Window to be placed in a place of honor and display in the MG Emmett J. Bean Center across from the Chapel. This offer has the concurrence/approval of the family of MG Bean. Pictures of the window are attached. You will note that a main feature of the design revolves around a repeated pattern of the Finance Corps 'Diamond'.

First pic - MG Bean window at top center of sanctuary entrance after re-installation in the Chapel in May 2009 after being returned from the FC Museum at Fort Jackson, SC. Size is approximately 60" wide x 30" high.

Second pic - Close up of window from other side of entrance.

Please advise if that donation will be acceptable to the General Services Administration and DFAS for placement of the window in an appropriate location in the Bean Center. If so, we can schedule a date/time for delivery of the window to you. It is not crated and will need to be handled with care as it is moved. We and the MG Bean family would also appreciate being kept informed of the details of how and when the window will be displayed.

I also have a file of historical documents that provide information on the origin of the window leading to its initial installation in the Chapel in 1989 which I will pass on to you with the window. These documents should permanently remain with the window.

Our very best to you and all of the US Army Finance Corps 'family' and others that continue to serve our country at the Bean Center.

VR yours,

Dave Mikkelson
