And this just in from the Chief (COL Troy Clay):

Wanted to provide a little more info on our FM Soldier killed and the great things he was doing for our Army at the time of his death.

One of the FM community's best was killed in the incident at Kabul Afghanistan during movement. SGT Darrough, James M. was a technical expert that deployed three times.  He was survived by his wife, Isaura Darrough and four children: Justin(15 Julianna(13) Jared(12) and Jenna(10)

SGT Darrough demonstrated exceptional ability by re-engineering multiple systems within the financial management network capabilities. He spearheaded our new CVS tracker that gave 100% transparency to support the fiscal triad process. His system reduced payment time from 40 days to 15.  At the time of his death he was working on two additional projects, one was an on-line Military pay response system and the other was a digital deployment on-line headquarters that would make it possible for any command team to maintain C2 as personnel traveled throughout the combat zone on their missions.

The in-theater memorial ceremony will be on Wednesday, 2 November 2011 in the Kabul area.

We have already processed a posthumous DMR and we plan to present it at his FT Campbell Memorial Service when scheduled.
