COL Jeffery Gilbert TAPS

2983, 22 Apr 2024

RAFINO Family,

CSM (R) Jesse Sablan wanted me to pass on some information regarding the passing of a fellow Finance Corps Officer, COL (R) Jeffery Gibert.

"It is with a heavy heart informing you that COL(R) Jeffery Gibert passed away on April 8th.

Unequivocally, COL Gibert was truly an inspirational and caring leader of Soldiers and families.

I had an urgent call last Thursday from his family, and my wife and I traveled from Indianapolis to the Alexandria hospice hospital on Friday.

We spent several hours with COL Gibert, his wife Mary, son Jeffery Jr. and families and friends on Saturday.  We were informed that COL Gibert could only hear; nothing else.

My wife and I had our special moments with COL Gibert on Saturday.  Before departing Alexandria on Sunday afternoon, we rejoiced in our final special moment with him.

Please share the information with others who might have known COL Gibert.

In sorrow,

JT Sablan

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeffery's wife, Mary, and Family.
