Info on Stimulus Payments and Taxes

2776, 12 Mar 2021

Anthony Lorenz provided this for those who are affected:

I have answered several inquiries from RAFINO members on this aspect.

First Stimulus money was paid in April-May 2020. Second was paid on January 4, 2021.

If you know exactly what you received, enter it on your tax software.

The software calculates what it thinks you should have received, it will say "yes, you received the correct  amount.  If not, it will enter the shortage amount on the tax return to be given to you.

If you don't know the amount and cannot find on your bank statements, you can log into "irs.gov"

Make sure you see irs.gov - there are many ads.

There is a place to ask about stimulus payments. You will need to use a credit (not debit) card number or loan number to identify yourself.

There is no charge for the form nor will credit card be used. They will then tell you what you received on both dates. You can print the message for your records.
