Member Searches Advice

259, 27 Jun 2011

Just a quick note to those who like to use the Member Search feature of the site.

We have reviewed a lot of the traffic since the site opened up on 6 Jun and noticed a lot of you are searching using just the first letter of the last name of the member for whom you are looking.  That will work fine.  However, please note that you can further narrow the search - if you are sure you have the correct last name spelling - by typing more than one letter of the last name.

For example, if you are looking for "Smith" and you type "S", you are going to get a long list of members whose last name starts with "S".  If you were to type "Sm", the results are fewer in number and easier to page through to get to the desired one.  Of course, "Sm" willl get you "Smith" and "Smythe" and "Small" and "Smothermon", etc.  Typing "Smit" or "Smith" would narrow it down a little more.

Just a little helpful hint to make your web experience go a little smoother.
