Protect Yourself Online
2491, 10 Feb 2019I found an informative article provided by my security software provider (Malwarebytes.com) that lays out the most prominent of the many schemes used by the bad guys out there to try and steal our data and fortunes when we are online.
I also ran across a neat website that allows you to copy and paste into it a suspected website address ("URL") and it will submit it to a large number of threat scanning engines to see if it is "Clean" and safe to click on
The article is at this link: https://www.malwarebytes.com/phishing/?utm_source=double-opt-in&utm_medium=email-internal-b2c&utm_campaign=EM-B2C-2019-February1-newsletter&utm_content=phishing
The scanning site (www.virustotal.com) is at this link: https://www.virustotal.com/#/home/url
The article is a good read and the virustotal.com tool is a good addition to your defensive arsenal.
