101st Finance Gander Crash Memorial Update # 6.

Those of you that have been following my posts on this subject will recall in my last post, Update # 5, I stated we had worked out all the issues concerning relocating and rededicating the Memorial Stone on the grounds of the 101st FMSU sometime in April. I have been advised by our Committee Chairman, Jeffrey Green that the issue of location has again been raised by a senior member of the 101st Airborne Division Command Group. Their initial position was to place all individual unit memorials in a central location on the post ( Memorial Row ). At the time of these initial discussions, the timeline for designating the location and preparing the central site was unknown so our Committee along with current 101st FMSU staff went forward with planning, designing, and preparing an appropriate rededication site on the FMSU grounds. This plan was tentatively approved by 101st officials, but now has been halted pending further discussions about how long it will take for the consolidated site to be ready. Jeff is in contact with the FMSU Commander who is working with 101st Staff to resolve this issue. I will provide additional information as I receive it.
