LTC Lucius R. Wingate to TAPs

Lucius R. WINGATE, LTC(Ret), passed away 9 May 2009.  Lucius had a career as an Officer and as a Civilian employee.  I served with him in Forces Command and developed a close relationship with him. He was the one who did all the detailed work on TO &E drills and helped get Command status for Finance Battalions and Groups. He made numerous trips to the Headquarters to fight for our positions.  He was always cheerful and always a professional.  Those who served with him were challenged to do their best. He lived a full life of service to the Army and this great Nation. He will be missed.  COL (R) Jerry D. HEARD
