MS ALYCE SECKINGER To TAPS

Alyce Elizabeth Seckinger, age 96, of Tuscaloosa, died June 5, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Springfield, Georgia. Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Murl Seckinger, Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Karolyn Elizabeth Seckinger Stephenson and her husband, Carlisle of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, George Murl Seckinger, Jr. of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; brother, Luther (Chuggy) Manning Williams, Jr., of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Dr. Carl Stephenson III (Cindy) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Derek Manning Seckinger of Tampa, Fla., Brigitte Yvonne Seckinger Lenstad of Taby, Sweden, and Jennifer Lynn Seckinger of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Shane and Lindsay Stephenson of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Kevin, Cailtin and Christoffer Lenstad of Taby, Sweden. 
Alyce was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 14, 1918. She was married in 1936 to George Murl Seckinger of Springfield, Georgia. They lived in Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, California and Indianapolis, Indiana. While her husband, George, served in the Army, during World War II, Alyce lived in Chattanooga, Tenn. and Springfield, Ga. After retirement from the Army in 1961 they moved to Atlanta, Ga. where George worked for the Highway Dept. Upon retirement they moved to Clearwater, Fla., and then to Rincon, Ga. After moving in with her daughter Karolyn and son-in-law Carlisle in 1997, she lived in Rockville, Md., six years and Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the past 12 years. 
She loved her family and was very proud of her children, George and Karolyn, son-in-law, Carlisle Stephenson and grandson Carl's wife Cindy Stephenson; her grandchildren, Dr. Carl Stephenson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Derek Seckinger of Tampa, Fla., Brigitte (Seckinger) Lenstad of Taby, Sweden, Jennifer Seckinger of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and her great-grandchildren, Shane and Lindsay Stephenson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Kevin, Cailtin and Christoffer Lenstad of Taby, Sweden.
She enjoyed working on quilts, attending classes and socials at Sew Delightful. -
