Dear Military Members, Golf Buddies, Friends and Family

This is to share with you that Bob died today after a brief fight with cancer.  Shives Funeral Home is making the arrangement for his funeral.  For more information please go to http://www.shivesfuneralhome.com/. We plan a short get together  at the funeral home at 11:00AM, then The Celebration of his Life followed by the military ceremony at the National Cemetery at FT. Jackson at 1:00PM.

If you are comfortable with my request I would like his golf partners to come dressed in their golf clothing paying tribute to his love for the game and his buddies.

Robert was born on September 16, 1946 and passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Robert was a resident of Columbia, South Carolina at the time of his passing. Johns is a 1964 graduate of Petaluma High School Petaluma California. He continued his education throughout his military career obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the State of New York and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. CSM Johns is a graduate of several military Noncommissioned Officers leadership schools to include the US Army Sergeant Majors' Academy. Johns enlisted in the US Army.

He was married to Eleonore. A service for CSM Johns will be held at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday March 23rd at Shives Funeral Home Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 o'clock. It is requested that any cards or letters be forwarded to Mrs. Eleonore Johns in care of Shives Funeral Home Trenholm Road Chapel 7600 Trenholm Road Columbia SC 29223.
