MSG JERRY MCKINNEY to TAPs

Sad news to report about retired MSG Jerry McKinney.

Jerry died last night in Hawaii after a long bout with cancer.

Jerry retired from the 125th FSU back in the 90's. He was a branch transfer into the Corps after serving in the Infantry, including service in Vietnam.

I learned a lot about tactical operations from Jerry Mckinney when we were both assigned to the 125th FSU. He was a great NCO and friend and I was honored to serve with him and stand by his side at his wedding to EunHee.

After his retirement from the Army, Jerry worked for DFAS for awhile at their Hawaii operating location. Jerry was selected to be the Honorary CSM for the 27th Infantry Regiment (Wolfhounds), which was his unit in Vietnam. He did an outstanding job in that capacity and was very respected and loved by the Wolfhound community.

Rest in peace, brother!
