Don Gary

I learned of the passing of my good friend Ltc Don Gary on Facebook. Don & I never served together on active duty altho we were at Ft Monroe, Fort Lewis & Vietnam at different times.I got to know him when we both worked for the state of Wa. after retirement. We attended a # of reunions together the last one in Tacoma in 2010. 2 of his favorite stories was when he was in an FDS during the Bulge. His unit was levied for someone to go to the Inf. His buddy was chosen over him because the 1st Sgt disliked him more than Don. He also met his wife in Belgium when he was invited to dinner with her family because he could speak French. Since he passed only a couple days ago I haven,t seen an Obit. Bob Caetano

Dear Friends of Donald Gary,

I found your email address in one my grandfather's (Donald Gary) email accounts. It is with a heavy heart to share with you that Donald Gary passed away on Saturday, March 14th in Olympia, Washington at St. Peters Hospital due to natural causes. He was 90 years old.

Our funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at 12:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Washington (south of Tacoma). There will be a reception to follow. We invite all friends/family/colleagues of Don to attend. If you could share word about my Grandfather's passing to others who he may have known the Gary family would appreciate this.
