CSM E. E. WHEELER, JR To TAPS

Retired Command Sergeant Major, Elmer E.Wheeler Jr, known as JR, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014.  He was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Pat, children; Kathy Winchester (Rick), Bobbie Lynn Wheeler, Chris (Michelle) Lopez; Daniel V(Jessica) Lopez. JR was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who proudly served in the Army for 22 and half years and retired in 1984. Upon retirement he entered the insurance business and retired in 2008. He was a life member of the VFW (Post 8919) & the American Legion Post 36.  He was a long time Treasurer and later the President of the El Paso Sergeants Major Association.  He was also the treasurer for the American Legion for a long time.

Graveside service will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
