Ms. RUTH LAVIGNE to TAPS

Ms. RUTH FOSTER LAVIGNE (64), (Wife of COL NORMAN), passed away 4/1/2013.

She passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Courville Nursing Home at Nashua, NH.

She was born on April 25, 1948, in Lawrence, Mass., to Marion R. (Frederick) Foster and the late E. Rene Foster. Ruthie was educated in St. Mary's grammar schools and was a graduate of Presentation of Mary High School in Methuen, Mass., and received her paralegal certificate from Northeastern University.

Ruth attended St. Mary's Church in Lawrence, Mass., and later attended St. Joseph's Church in Salem, where she served as a Eucharistic minister for several years. In the 70s she served on the school board for St. Joseph's Regional School in Salem.

An accomplished dancer, Ruth owned and operated Ruth's School of Dance in the Salem Depot from 1968 to 1972.

As a member of the Nashua Country Club, she was an avid golfer and enjoyed the game. She also enjoyed the challenge of playing Bridge at the Nashua Senior Center. Ruth was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, COL (RET) Norman A. Lavigne of Nashua; her sons, Joseph and his wife, Kristen Kenney, of Concord and James and his wife, Karen Kenney, of Manchester; her grandchildren, Francesca, Alixandria, Logan, Seth, Madyn, Quinn, Patrick and Shannon; her great-grandson, Liam; her sister, Joyce and her husband, Dennis Habib, of Pelham, and her brother, William and his wife, Sue Foster of Port Charlotte, Fla; godchildren, Lyndsey Habib and William Foster Jr.; stepchildren: Frederick Lavigne, Michael Lavigne and Jillian Corga; step -grandchildren, Olivia and Anna Grace Corga and Bailey and Alex Lavigne; her aunt, Barbara Frederick of Pheonix, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Courville Nursing Home and the Hospice Care of Nashua for their compassion and excellent nursing care of Ruth.

Ruth was buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence, Mass.
