COL R. CARL EBERSBERGER To TAPS

R. Carl Ebersberger (Col. U.S. Army Ret.), 88, of Naples, FL, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014.

Formerly of Fallston, MD, he had been a Naples resident since 1985. He was born October 24, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, the son of Gustav Adolf and Katherine (née Homberg) Ebersberger. He grew up working in his father's general store in Baltimore County, MD and graduated from the McDonogh School in 1944.

Carl served in World War II before graduating from the University of Maryland. He received an MBA from Indiana University and served in the Finance Corps for 26 years, retiring in 1974 as a colonel. He also served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Ebersberger is survived by his loving daughters, Katharine Ebersberger of Thornton, CO and Sue Ann Ebersberger of Norristown, PA; and his cherished granddaughter, Grace Ebersberger.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, B. Joan (née Seal) in 2009.

A memorial service was Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
Burial with Military Honors followed in the church memorial garden.
