ABOUT OUR MEMBERS
By Chick Cecchini

While the great majority of our membership has always consisted of retired commissioned and warrant officers of the Finance Corps (USA, USAR, ANG, or AUS) we also have the privilege of counting among our members many of their widows, or widowers.  In addition there are some retirees of the USAF – who many years ago wore the Finance diamonds.  Similarly, a few of our members were once Finance Corps but later found themselves in other branches of the Army.  Some of our members retired from the WAC – when such a distinction was attached to women in the Army.  These ladies, accordingly, at that time were not officially branch-identified to the FC.  We however, always considered them to have been true members of the Finance Family, and therefore, herein  make no distinction now.

We also have enrolled certain select Civil Service retirees to membership, i.e., persons whose contributions in Civil Service had a significant beneficial impact on the mission and welfare of our Corps.

With particular pleasure and pride we also count among our ranks a few allied officers who at one or more times in their distinguished careers studied or served among us.  We consider their choice to affiliate themselves with us a great compliment.  We cherish their friendship.

Although not identified as such in our roster (only because our database program does not provide for it), we are pleased to count among our membership a select handful of members whose careers were totally in other branches of the Army – but whose official paths crossed ours in a significant way and whose relationships and friendships we treasure.

Finally, we are pleased to have accessed some members who are still on active duty in the Finance Corps, but are “retirement eligible” and, in anticipation of retirement, have chosen to join the ranks of RAFINO early.
